CULT Curated x Three Rooms Sydney
In 2020 .M Contemporary collaborated with CULT in their project to furnish and design an apartment at ‘Three Rooms Sydney’ – a new venture, which features three luxury apartments for short term accommodation in Potts Point, Sydney.
Designed to accommodate even the most discerning guest, the Cult apartment is set within an abundance of natural light and exudes personality. The apartment features high ceilings, beautiful European furniture and original artworks from M Contemporary.
Inspired by fashion designer Azzedine Alaia’s ‘3 Rooms Paris’ hotel and ‘The Apartment by the Line’ in New York and Los Angeles, Potts Point locals Chrissi James and Tony Benjamin developed III Rooms Sydney to bring a unique European style of apartment living to Australia.
Showcased artists include: Agneta Ekholm, Carol Crawford, Morne Visage, Simone Rosenbauer, Gidon Bing, Lyndi Sales, Jarek Wojcik.
Jarek Wojcik was born in Szczecin, Poland. He studied painting and art history at the University of Poznan, Poland, graduating with an MA in medieval mural art. He held his first solo in 2015 and has exhibited in galleries in Hong Kong, Melbourne, Paris, Perth, Szczecin and Sydney.
Finnish born, Australian based artist Agneta Ekholm’s work is by definition abstract and built entirely from imagination and engagement with her technical process. Each painting evolves on the canvas: no working drawings exist. The paintings result from the exploration and discovery inherent in a technique honed over the last 20 years.
German/Australian artist Simone Rosenbauer lives and works on the lands of Awabakal and Worimi in Awabakal country (Newcastle/Australia). She studied Photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund (Germany), where she received her BA and MA in 2006. In 2008 she received the European Endeavour Award from the Australian Government to study for her MFA in Photography at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, which she completed in 2010.
I am an Australian born, Sydney-based artist.
Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Lyndi Sales (b.1973) explores themes of perception and vision as well as connectivity. She strives to create in her audience a corporeal response – a feeling of being in one’s own body, to “bring people to their senses.”
