Unlike previous exhibitions, “Sum of its parts” features fragments of figures and faces as though they are too big to fit on the canvas. The portraits are bursting out from the restraints of the canvas edges. They don’t want to fit “inside the box”.

Young Artist Initiative (YAI)

Young Artists Initiative 2014 (YAI-14) is the second graduate exhibition to take place at .M Contemporary in 2015. The exhibition will showcase graduating students of 2014 that show exceptional potential from COFA (College of Fine Arts), NAS (National Art School) and SCA (Sydney College of the Arts). Graduates have been selected by a judging panel comprising of Founder and Director of BresicWhitney Shannon Whitney, Director of Art Advisory Anna Waldmann, Judith Blackall Curator and Manager of National Art School, Independent arts writer Andrew Frost, Artistic Director of Art Month Glenn Barkley and .M Contemporary Founder Michelle Paterson and Director Louise Rush.
