TOMIWA AROBIEKE | COWBOYS
Having recently joined the gallery’s artist stable, ‘Cowboy’ is Tomiwa Arobieke’s debut exhibition with .M Contemporary. Arobieke translates observations of his surroundings in Nigeria and broader society into captivating figurative paintings which invite contemplation on the interplay between African tradition and modernity.
Creating art is my way of expressing human feelings, lifestyles and experiences into visual form. I use oil and acrylics on canvas as medium to explore themes of identity, emotions, and the interplay between the nature and human made worlds. Each piece is a reflection of my inner dialogue and an invitation for viewers to engage in their own interpretations and connections with the work. Through my art, I aim to spark dialogue, evoke emotion, and inspire a deeper understanding of the world around us.
I invite you to engage with my art, to journey with me through the visual stories I weave, and to find your own meaning within the layers of color, texture, and form. Thank you for being a part of this creative exploration.
