Meaghan Potter

Unlike previous exhibitions, “Sum of its parts” features fragments of figures and faces as though they are too big to fit on the canvas. The portraits are bursting out from the restraints of the canvas edges. They don’t want to fit “inside the box”.

Meaghan Potter

Meaghan Potter’s new solo exhibition Here to There, and the Sublime In Between presents a focused perspective on the transcendental qualities of wildlife within her local Blue Mountains landscape. Accompanying Potters signature bird drawings in this exhibition are a series of new mediums including ceramic bees and encaustic paintings. These new materials work in harmony with Potters stand out drawings to create a diverse field of artworks. All of which invite audiences to contemplate the sublime moments in which we interact with the chaotic and infinite, natural world. Ultimately, Potter aims to prosper a culture of value for the unique environment we inhabit within Australia.
