‘Intertidal Zone: To be loved, is to be changed’

‘Intertidal Zone’ explores the transformative power of love within the context of emotional relationships. Just as the intertidal zone experiences the tumultuous forces of rough seas, flooding, and erosion, our relationships undergo similar trials and tribulations. Yet, it is within this chaos that the true essence of love emerges.

The intertidal zone serves as a metaphor for the complexities of human connection. In these spaces of overlap, identities are forced to confront each other, challenging us to define who we are and where we belong. Similarly, love intertwines our lives, breaking down barriers and reshaping our landscapes. Through my work, I seek to convey the idea that love, whether it be in platonic or romantic form in, has the power to reshape and redefine us. Just as the rain, water, and ocean sculpt the intertidal landscape, love shapes our identities and narratives, molding us into who we are meant to be. It is not disaster, but rather the natural pattern of growth and transformation inherent in the human experience.
