In ‘House of Continental’, Rick Carlino recalls the colours and atmospheres of visiting his Italian family and friends’ homes as a young boy. Each palette is drawn from memory – sun-warmed terracotta, soft greens, rose pinks – transforming familiar interiors into abstracted, luminous fields of colour.
The series deepens Carlino’s ongoing exploration of epoxy resin’s unpredictability. Geometric structures guide the compositions, yet the resin resists containment, allowing memory to remain fluid and ever-evolving.
‘House of Continental’ becomes a meditation on how colour, material, and recollection intertwine.
