Culture Pop

Culture Pop: a juxtaposition of mass culture and fine art is an exhibition presenting diverse ideas surrounding contemporary pop culture. The exhibition seeks to demonstrate how such ideas are artisticly manifested by artists in a range of mediums, which include light installation, photography, sculpture, ceramic, painting, and mixed media. The exhibition will include the work of artists, Aly Indermühle, Anya Pesce, Grant Maxwell, Jason Moad, Monica Styles, Sergio Hernandez Merchan, Simone Rosenbauer, Gabriel Isak and Will Coles. To also exhibit for the first time at the gallery is German artist, Maxim Wakultschik who has recently been taken on for exclusive representation in Australia by .M Contemporary.

I am an Australian born, Sydney-based artist.

Will Coles

Will Coles is best known for his defiant and accessible take on street art – sculptures that bring together pop and conceptual aesthetics. These familiar yet unsettling works surprise and delight people in cities across the world as they go about their day.

Simone Rosenbauer

German/Australian artist Simone Rosenbauer lives and works on the lands of Awabakal and Worimi in Awabakal country (Newcastle/Australia). She studied Photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund (Germany), where she received her BA and MA in 2006. In 2008 she received the European Endeavour Award from the Australian Government to study for her MFA in Photography at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, which she completed in 2010.
