CAMERON HAAS | PRETTY HURTS SOMETIMES
Cameron Haas completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at the National Art School, Sydney, after beginning his studies at the University of Tasmania. Based in Sydney, Haas has developed a practice centred on abstraction, exploring the relationships between form, colour, and composition with a precision that belies their apparent simplicity.
For his forthcoming exhibition, Haas presents a significant new direction within his practice. While remaining committed to painting, this latest body of work reflects an expanded exploration of surface, spatial relationships, and the physical presence of the painted object. Building on the considered visual language that has defined his work to date, the exhibition introduces a fresh dialogue between material, colour, and form.
This new body of work marks an important evolution in Haas’ practice, continuing his thoughtful investigation into the possibilities of abstraction while signalling an exciting new chapter in his ongoing exploration of contemporary painting.
Cameron Haas began studying fine art at the University of Tasmania and completed his studies at the National Art School in Sydney where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours in 2010. He now lives and works in the Sydney Area.
