Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Lyndi Sales explores themes of perception and vision as well as connectivity. She strives to create in her audience a corporeal response – a feeling of being in one’s own body, to “bring people to their senses.”
In her work, Sales is invested in driving into the present, seeing it as a mysterious, elusive and mutable idea. Her previous work has focused on a series of installations and artworks that seek to investigate the circumstances surrounding the controversial Helderberg plane crash, of which her father was one of the passengers. Sales most recent work explores the altered states of consciousness within the body, inspired by her journey with alternative plant medicine.
