Alex Karaconji’s interests lie, almost exclusively, in drawing. Recently, he has been working with stop-motion animation. His materials range from charcoal to L.E.D blackboards, to sand. In addition to making animations, Alex also reuses the drawings that were made for his animation by tearing them up and rearranging them into interior scenes.
In his most recent work No Fixed Address, Alex creates an unassuming document of his daily life. The narrative at the centre of this animation is the sale of his family home. This overarching narrative manages to house a variety of themes including grief, identity, and the passing of time.
