Emma Theyers is a New Zealand born artist, currently based in Brisbane. Her practice utilises eastern philosophy as a mode of enquiry to understand the complexities of the human – nature relationship. Projects to date have included an investigation in to; the continuous life-cycle to which we all belong; our position within the infinite cosmos and direct acts of reconciliation. Since completing her Bachelor degree at Queensland College of Art Emma has exhibited throughout Queensland and Australia. Her works have been short-listed in the Paul Guest Drawing Prize, JADA Drawing Prize, Hadley’s Landscape Art Prize and Dobell Drawing Prize.
